Without a doubt, Cara Soulia is my favorite photographer right now. Given the idea from her friend, Kristen Collins, Cara is using her photography skills to raise money for non-profits in her community of Needham, Massachussetts during this time of uncertainty, all while following the latest social distancing guidelines. She calls it ‘The Front Steps Project’ and is encouraging other photographers to join her. If you haven’t guessed already, I am so in!
What is it?
The Front Steps Project is what you get when you combine family portraits, social distancing, and community support and bake it at 350 until it makes you feel warm and fuzzy. In return for donating to the photographer’s non-profit of choice, you get a free professional family portrait.
With a lot of non-profits needing extra support to provide their much needed services, The Front Steps Project is a way to get your family photo taken (while maintaining a safe distance) at no charge while encouraging donations to help the community.
How it works
Available to Round Rock residents only. Photo sessions are free of charge and done in just a few minutes. I will email your family portrait to you within a week. Participating families are asked to make a donation to the Round Rock Area Serving Center. All portraits will be shared on Instagram and Facebook using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject as a way to spread awareness and get more photographers and more communities on board.
